tips for a successful group plan design...

treat everyone equally...not the same.

Offer HSA's with contributions for the younger participants. Offer Medicare Options to the elder.  You'll see costs decrease and morale go through the roof. One plan can't satisfy everyone...that's why there are so many! You can and should offer a few well placed options.

offer private options for dependant coverage.

Carriers compensate brokers nearly the same per adult head on group plans as private plans. Why should the broker shop private options for your dependents? Not for their commissions...for your employee's premium savings. Dependent premiums, if subject to payroll deductions, can be dramatically reduced on private plans if the dependents are fit...and it won't negatively effect your rate! Give your employees the opportunity of a quote.
